Mrs. Fatima deCarvalho-Gianni

Principal

I am blessed and honored to be hired as the new principal of Holy Name of Jesus School.  I was born and raised in Westchester.  My husband and I have been married for fourteen loving years.  We have been blessed with three beautiful children, two dogs, a cat, fishes and a lizard!

My educational experience includes teaching in the Archdiocese of New York as well as serving as principal.  I also, had the opportunity to teach many seminars for the Archdiocese as well as for Manhattan College through a consortium for the Yonkers School District.  I have taught for several years as an adjunct professor at Manhattan College.  My degrees are a B.A. in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College, M.A. in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic University, M.A. in Elementary Education from Dowling College and credits in School Administration from Fordham University.

I believe in the importance of a Catholic Education.  That every child has the right to grow unconditionally is a safe spiritual environment with compassion toward others.  I have a passion for working with God’s children, their families, my fellow colleagues and the community.  My greatest initiative is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment to provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each child to the best of our ability due to the common core.  Parents, teachers, support staff, and administration all have an important role to encourage our children to be active learners.   It is my desire to provide expanded opportunities for our students to acquire the skills to become productive citizens in a vastly changing society.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fatima deCarvalho-Gianni
